Erik Willems joins Shot Race Gear

Shot Race Gear is excited to announce a partnership with rising enduro star Erik Willems (22). Willems, the reigning French Junior E2 champion, successfully transitioned to enduro two years ago. For 2021 the Husqvarna BeLux rider wants to continue his progress in the FIM Junior Enduro World Championship.

Although Erik started to make a name for himself in motocross -where he recorded two EMX300 podiums and bronze in the overall standings of the 2018 EMX300 championship- his discovery of enduro opened up a whole new world.

In his very first ISDE participation in 2019 the spectacular Belgian rode to an impressive 6th place in the junior class while finishing 10th in E2 and 23rd in the scratch. A double French success last year when he claimed both the French Junior overall and J2 championships and promising results  in the Junior Enduro World Championship further cemented his rising profile.

Erik Willems:I’m stoked to start working with Shot, a brand that’s already so successful in enduro! It’s really cool to be part of this great tradition of Shot enduro riders from Pela Renet and Mathias Bellino to Graham Jarvis, Alfredo Gomez and now Billy Bolt. And just like them I’m already a Husqvarna guy for a long time as well.

I know that I still have a long way to go to fulfil my own ambitions but I really feel that I am where I belong in enduro. It’s hard, the days on the bike are long and challenging but I love it! Of course it’s also motivating if you can get your first taste of success in a new discipline. This year I’m aiming for podium spots in the junior world championship and the Belgian enduro title in the Prestige class.”

Ghislain Huot, CEO Shot Race Gear: “It’s always exciting to discover fresh talent. Erik already has a lot of the ingredients to make things happen in enduro and he's definitely an interesting rider to watch the way he charges with great intensity! We think he has the potential to go far if he keeps pushing like he has.

Shot Race Gear is happy to join him in this awesome adventure and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. Good luck Erik!”
